Born in Jersey, Jade Capaldi is an analogue photographer working across fashion, lifestyle and travel. Her work moves between bodies and places, drawn to how skin meets fabric, stone, sand and light. Trained in architecture, she reads space instinctively, the result is imagery where figures belong to their environments rather than standing against them.

Her relationship with film began young, shaped by family photo albums and the home movies her father shot on an early video recorder. She bought her first camera at 14, and at architecture school she relied on photography alongside drawing, painting, model-making and scanning, an early introduction to working across mediums that still runs through her practice today. After graduating she left for Indonesia on impulse to work with a jewellery designer, and spent much of her twenties between Indonesia and Switzerland, ocean and mountains. That instinct to follow where the work leads continues to shape her practice.

She shoots primarily in medium format and Super 8, and hand prints with her lab. Film, slow process and material craft sit at the centre of her approach, a counterpoint to a faster, more digital world. The people she meets through her camera, and the stories quietly shared in the space between frames, hold a larger presence than the brief encounters suggest.

She is currently based in Europe for the summer, available for bookings internationally. Alongside commissioned travel & fashion work, she sells prints of her muses and travels.
